Why Is Training Important?

Your dog is learning 24 hours a day with - or without - your guidance. Being proactive in your dog's training is excellent mental stimulation - dogs that are bored and unfulfilled tend to find trouble.  Training also opens clear lines of communication to teach your dog rules, boundaries and limitations.

Learning methods of prevention is the best foundation for solving many behavior problems and everyday canine challenges. Training nurtures confidence and predictability in your dog, thus creating a calm, balanced, and well-mannered companion. Our training programs will help create a courteous canine – a true asset to the neighborhood.

Your dog is likely to be a loyal member of your family for more than 10 years; don’t you owe it to yourself to have a well-trained family companion? Training with At the End of Your Leash™ is one of the most invaluable gifts you can give your dog and your family.

Our Methods

At the End of Your Leash treats your dog and family as one unit, helping bring harmony to your home. Using methods of training developed by Jennifer, we draw from the best resources available and her 25+ years of hands-on experience.

Our techniques include the use of proper body language, food, leash handling skills and training collars. As much as possible, we believe in using a combination of true pack leadership, food treats, praise, a favorite toy and play to motivate your companion to want to work with you.  In addition, to prepare you-and your dog- for real-world scenarios, we will teach you how to appropriately correct your dog based on the dog's size, temperament, training collar, and the situation at hand..

Our natural, effective methods create an enjoyable training experience for both you and your dog. This process works for all breeds and types of dogs, allowing for clear communication, reduced training time, better retention, and a greatly enhanced relationship between you and your now well-mannered dog.
